One of the most popular search strings that brings visitors to my web site is "Nostradamus Third Antichrist". If you are one of those people with fear in your heart about the future of our planet, then look no further. There is no Chaos in the world, everything happens according to a Divine Plan, the Book of Life. Read the other articles in the WRR and eventually you will be able to, like me, look into a mirror and recognize the Antichrist and the Christ within yourself. In every moment our actions are motivated by fear we ARE the Antichrist and in every moment we act out of Love, we ARE the Christ. This article (the only unpleasant one I’ll be writing - it only gets better from here on!) consists of the 9th chapter from a book that was published in 19852 (the same year in which I, at the age of 17, gave a speech about the Coming of the Antichrist) about the prophecies of Nostradamus. Though a lot of it could be regarded as pure speculation, you will see the significance of this article immediately. A prophecy to me is first and foremost a warning to mankind. A prophecy says to us: “If you continue in your ways, this is what is going to happen.” A prophecy will come true until the day that the lesson of the prophecy penetrates the hearts and minds of people. A prophecy will also continue to come true until a stronger prophecy comes along. Elsewhere I have read interpretations of Nostradamus’ prophecies, which state that the Third World War will continue for 27 years. This I strongly believe need not come true, but if we do not change our ways, chances are that this could very well become our reality. Destiny will control us until we start controlling destiny. The sky will burn at 45 degrees. Fire approaches the great new city. Immediately huge, scattered flame leaps up.
The state of New York lies between the 40th and 45th parallel in the U.S.A. Here is a staggering coincidence. The attack appears to be very widespread, covering both the state and the new city, and the scattered flame may well be that of a nuclear holocaust.

Garden of the world, near the new city, in the road of the hollow mountains. It will be seized and plunged in the tank, forced to drink water poisoned with sulphur.
When I first translated this quatrain I assumed, rather simplistically, that the water supply of New York City would be poisoned; whether by sulphur or some more sophisticated chemical it was impossible to tell. Nostradamus' vocabulary was not capable of our twentieth-century distinctions. But when it was disclosed in November 1983 that unclean water tainted with radioactivity had been leaked from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the "garden of the world," since 1979 and possibly for as much as eight years earlier, it does give one some cause for thought. Harrisburg is only 180 miles from New York City. Three Mile Island administrators have a great deal to answer for if only in fulfilling the predictions of a man who wrote four hundred years earlier.
The "Cuve," which literally means a huge tank, I interpret as the nuclear reactor at Harrisburg where the contaminated water was initially stored. I also love the description of New York as the "road of hollow mountains." What could be closer to a city of skyscrapers?
There is a strange quatrain in Century II, which may be one of the guides to the ambiguous name of the antichrist who follows upon "Perse," although it is hard to decipher with any clarity.

The last but one of the prophets' name will take Monday for his day of rest. He will wander far in his madness, delivering a great nation from subjection [taxation?].
This certainly seems to imply a non-Christian leader, presumably Moslem or Asian, whose name shall begin with one of the penultimate names of the Prophet, normally spelled Mahomet or Mohammed. I do not understand the reference to the Holy Day as being a Monday. It belongs to none of the major religions as we know them. Whether he is the antichrist to come or a forerunner is not clear.
This quatrain does, however, lead into two fascinating possibilities as to the name of the third antichrist of Nostradamus' Prophecies. Once he is named as Alus, in the second as Mabus, such an easy corruption of the Latin Malus: the Evil One:
Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra,
De gens et bestes une horrible defaite:
Puis tout a coup La vengeance on verra
Cent, main, soif,faim, quand courra La cornett.

Mabus will soon die and then there will be dread- ful destruction of people and animals. Suddenly vengeance will be revealed, a hundred to hand, thirst and hunger when the comet will pass.
The usual Nostradamus dating of Halley's Comet, 1986, is probable in this context, even if only that it fits in with so many of the other predictions, particularly those in the chapter on the papacy. Is Mabus/Alus an anagram of the name of the third antichrist? As a successful physician Nostradamus knew full well that diseases, which kill both animals and man are almost unknown. I discount the plague in this case because I believe he would not call rats "animals." I am afraid the gift of Alus/Mabus may well be nuclear-fallout perhaps? So all we can do is await the arrival of the comet and its consequent "horrible defaite." The only other quatrain one can relate to these is the one, which refers to the "bloody Alus," "Alus Sanguinaire."

His hand finally through the bloody Alus, he will be unable to protect himself by sea. Between two rivers he will fear the military hand, the black and angry one shall make him repent his actions.
Nostradamus does use the trigger word "main," hand, with both these figures. I don't suppose a finger on a button meant much to him, but few people in the twentieth century would doubt its meaning: the control of the nuclear strike- whether it be Cruise missiles, Pershing II or the Russian Intercontinental missiles, SS20s. Many of the letters I have received over the past two years have suggested that the "hand on the button" is that of President Reagan. It did not seem very probable initially. Since November 1983 I must revise my thoughts. If this is the case, the American president is also inextricably linked in some way with the third antichrist. Even if he gets to serve another term, as seems likely, he probably will not complete it. Civilization, as we know and understand it, will have been wiped from the face of the earth."
