Since February 2001 I have demanded from God to give me a "sign" big enough to motivate me to write this article. The collapse of the JG Strijdom Monument was big. The solar eclipse¹³ in June 2001 was even bigger, but still I found it was not big enough - they are signs easily set aside in the memory of a human being. I seeked something even bigger. Day by day, month by month I calculated the numerological value of each date hoping that it would be the day for my big "sign". By August 2001 I had actually given up believing that I was going to get a bigger sign from God. Then on 11/9/2001 my brother phoned and said that we better switch on CNN news on television. As I walked downstairs I saw the second plane going into the WTC. My first words to my mother, pointing at the television was: "that is God!" I got my sign very load and very clear... clearer than I could ever imagine a Sign could be.

My most important confession is directed at the families of ALL the people who lost their lives in the tragedy of 11 September 2001: Once again I feel MUTUALLY responsible for what happened on that day. Mohammed ATTA who piloted the first plane into the WTC lived in Hamburg at the same time as I did. I wish I had known then what I know now. Maybe I could have made a difference. Maybe he was the Arab man I saw with disgust and fear walking in the street that night, directly after I saw the movie Not without my daughter with a friend in Hamburg. Maybe if I had smiled at him then and exchanged a few polite words with him then, maybe if I had listened to him then and tried to understand his anger at the Western world, I could have made a difference in his life. Maybe...

I do not want something like that to ever happen again. I do not want to see the world go into another global conflict, a conflict that seems ever more likely to happen and has the potential of escalating into a 3rd World War, a religious war between Jew & Christian vs. Islam. It is not my wish that the USA attacks Iraq yet again. I cannot imagine a single reason why this should be necessary.

An attempt to find modern symbols to demonstrate my spiritual values:

• The Universe/God is a Cosmic Computer -
  the Karma you put in determines what you get out.
• Man is a Cell Phone and the Universe is the Service Provider.
• Your Brain is a limitless hard disc drive and your Third Eye a cosmic modem connecting you to the rest of a wireless network: the Universe.
• Life is a Motion Picture Film - you are an Actor.
• Life is an adventure game on a Playstation called Earth - you are the hero.

• There is no Satan, but the Phantom of the Opera inside your Heart and Mind.
• The only Heaven and Hell there are, are the ones we create.
• There is no sin or evil; no right or wrong.
• There are only more beautiful ways of living your life.
• You always do the Will of God because you are ONE with GOD.
• Abraham/Jesus/Mohammed/Buddha/Confucius/Krishna and all the other Messiahs in history are all sinless/perfect, so are you.
• God made everything perfect. He/She does not make mistakes.
• Beauty is Truth and because beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, Truth can be something different for each of us.
• Love destroys Fear.
• God is your Daddy/Mommy - He/She does not want you to fear Him/Her.

¹² I interpret the symbolism of the South African flag as follows. It  has 6 colours, 6 internal corners and 6 internal lines. The "Y" represents the Superior Man. From top to bottom the flag represents a time line. We start off with the colours of the ruling political party, the ANC (black, green and gold). ¹³ There has been 2 solar eclipses over Southern Africa, in June 2001 and December 2002. A solar eclipse is the only time one can look at the sun without being blinded. With the moon in front of it, the sun looks like a "c". "C" is the 3rd letter in the alphabet - "cc" relates to the number 33. The spiritual meaning of the number 33 is: "Spiritual enlightenment; intense to the point of being frightening, as looking directly into the sun can be blinding to the eye."
