In May 2001 I went out one evening with a group of fellow musicians and started chatting about the symbolic meaning of birth dates and personality. The conversation triggered a major new interest in my life. Consequently I bought the book “Initiation into Numerology” by the Brazilian author, Johann Heyss and began an intense study of the numbers in my life.
What is numerology?[1]
"The ancient science of Numerology, which can be traced back as far as 10,000 years to Egypt, India, Rome, Greece and China, and Jewish mysticism, is the study of the symbology of numbers.
"As it has grown and developed over the years one of its main influences has been the great mathematician Pythagoras, and in modern times, since L. Dow Balliett published her book The Philosophy of Numbers: Their Tone and Colours in 1908, many studies have been made and books published on the subject.
"In the last few years Numerology has grown in popularity and stature as even the largest companies in the US and around the world have consulted Numerologists about their company names - Are there powerful moneymaking energies buried in the letters? Are there dynamic energies of creativity, innovation and individuality? Has the Management team the right balance of talents to succeed?
"Numerology can also be used for Vocational Guidance, compatibility analysis, home and business analysis - where the energies of a house or company are compared with the occupants/management.
"Everything in the universe vibrates at its own particular frequency. By finding the vibration rate of any object, you can establish the qualities and energies associated with it.
"By applying one simple mathematical formula to the numbers representing a person's birth name, the name they use now, their birth date, and various other combinations, a numerologist can derive four major core elements and some twenty or so modifiers. A symbolic evaluation of these elements and modifiers provides a remarkably complete and accurate character analysis.
"For millennia, numbers have fascinated mankind. “Magic” numbers have been used in the building of the pyramids and in the charting of the heavens. Scholars and mystics have sought the secret energies of numbers and seen them hidden within nature. It has even been said that God is a Mathematician.
"Ever wondered why you're here? What drives us and what we do are often a mystery even to ourselves. However, the special combinations of numbers in your name and birthday gives the trained eye a unique understanding of the energies available to an individual.
"In numerology, all numbers are reduced to the single digits 1 through 9 except when we come across the special master numbers 11 and 22. 1 to 9, 11 and 22 represent the major vibration rates and therefore traits associated with somebody's character. The other master numbers are 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88 and 99. However, these very rarely come up and are not used by most numerologists.

"In describing your personality using Numerology, you may think there are only a limited number of things to say with just the numbers 1 to 9 and 11 or 22. But consider the potential combinations. The Core consists of four elements each of which can be one of eleven numbers (1-9, 11 & 22). That makes the number of possible permutations 14,641. Add in all the possible numbers combinations for all the other elements in the Comprehensive report and we have 2,708,638,820,316 permutations (that's 2.7 trillion). Then you must add any Karmic Debts and Lessons that may come up. From this perspective you are truly unique!"[1]
